The design for this ‘wall chart’ of pills is a new take on the wallpaper originally created for the first Pharmacy restaurant in London in 1997. The new design features the one hundred most prescribed medicines dispensed in England (in 2013), data provided by Health and Social Care Information Centre and the NHS Prescription Services. The grid design features images of the highly-coloured pills, accompanied by the names of the chemical, brand and pill as well as the dosage amount. The wallpaper reflects Hirst’s enduring interest in the power of pharmaceuticals. The iconic design was updated for installation in Pharmacy 2 restaurant at Damien Hirst’s Newport Street Gallery.
